Fall 2025 Wednesday 7v7 CoEd Soccer at Astoria Park

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, football fanatics across this glorious borough of Queens! What a season of full-blooded, end-to-end Pura Vida we've witnessed under those lights at Astoria Park! As autumn chills grace the air, the action on the pitch has only heated up, delivering goals, drama, and some genuinely breathtaking results. The Fall 2025 Wednesday 7v7 CoEd league has been nothing short of a spectacle, a beautiful carnival of competition that's left us all clamoring for more!

The Unstoppable Juggernaut at the Summit

Sitting pretty at the very top of the table, commanding the respect of every squad in the division, are the magnificent COG! This incredible collective has been a true machine, relentlessly turning the gears of victory with an astonishing 11 wins and just one draw, leaving their opponents often feeling like they've been run over by a finely-tuned engine. Boasting a staggering 40 goals scored and a miserly 9 conceded, their goal difference of +31 is just, dare we say, ridiculous! Their recent 3-1 victory over Goal Diggers on November 19th just solidified their iron grip on the pole position – a championship side in the making, no doubt!

The Chasing Pack: Warriors & Gunners

Hot on COG's heels, displaying incredible resolve, stability, and sheer will, are the Wednesday Warriors. These titans certainly have lived up to their name, consistently battling every Wednesday to secure a phenomenal 9 wins and 3 draws from their 12 outings. Their latest outing saw them emphatically best Rover Celtics 5-1, showcasing precisely why they're such a formidable force; they were truly on the 'War Path'. Then we have Arse N All, who have indeed gotten to the bottom of how to win consistently. With 9 wins and a singular draw, they've been a relentless presence, showing their teeth with recent decisive victories like the 3-1 triumph over Just Friends FC / Diamond Dogs FC. They can certainly sting!

Rising Stars and Steady Edges

Further down the table, but by no means out of the mix, we find the red-hot 5 star rejects FC. Don't let the name fool you, because this squad has absolutely rejected the premise of defeat more often than not, showing star quality with 8 wins and a recent decisive 3-0 shutout against Popcorn Shrimp FC! They are now truly '5-star certified'.
The always-exciting We iiiiiight F.C. are sitting comfortably with a sturdy 21 points. They proved that they are "alright" (or 'iiiight' might we say?) with a very tight 2-1 victory over TBD FC and even managed to hold the formidable 5 star rejects FC to a 0-0 draw on November 12th. Those are results that scream resilience!
And how about FC Disbeleaf? They're certainly rooting for themselves after a very strong performance recently, including a dominant 3-0 victory against Jogo Bonito and a simply jaw-dropping 9-0 masterclass against TBD FC. They're making believers out of us after showing a complete turnaround in their gameplay!

Mid-Table Mayhem & The Battle for Breakthroughs

The middle of this league is a classic scramble, where every point is fought for with passion! Finally United FC have truly found their unity at times this season, but their recent 2-4 loss to Rover Celtics showed that consistency can be a tough beast to tame. You know Rover Celtics will always roam forward, and their 26 goals attest to that!
Popcorn Shrimp FC have had moments where they've really popped off the pitch, but an inconsistent run of form, including a 3-0 loss to 5 star rejects FC and a 4-1 loss to COG, has seen them dip. They need to come out of their shell!

Battling it out at the business end of the table, but with spirits undoubtedly high for a strong finish, are Goal Diggers. They've certainly had to dig deep this season, picking up some draws and some tough losses, but their recent 2-1 win over Just Friends FC / Diamond Dogs FC showed they can strike gold when it matters! Just Friends FC / Diamond Dogs FC, sometimes playing like man's best friend (loyal and energetic!), are still working to find their ultimate cohesion, but we've seen flashes of brilliance from them through the season. As for Jogo Bonito (Portuguese for 'Beautiful Game'), they've unfortunately found the results less than 'bonito' this fall, but the spirit of the world's game endures! And hats off to TBD FC, who despite the tough run of results, show up week after week. Their determination is not 'TBD'; it’s an absolute certainty!

What a fabulous season it's been, with every team leaving it all on the pitch week in and week out. The passion, the goals, the tactical battles – it's why we love this beautiful game, folks!
