Welcome back, footy fanatics, to the Summer 2025 Thursday 7v7 CoEd Soccer League update! The sun is beaming down on Pier 40, and the beautiful game, el futbol, is serving up some absolute crackers! As we head into the business end of the season, the title race is hotter than ever, with twists and turns worthy of a prime-time drama!

Leading the Charge: The Battle at the Top

Sitting proudly at the summit, flexing their goalscoring muscles, are the formidable Beer Bellies! This squad has demonstrated a proverbial thirst for points, accumulating an impressive 21 points from their stellar run. Their recent form has been nothing short of a masterclass in control, including a clinical 3-0 victory over Clay Bobeebeebos and a dominant 4-0 whitewash of Kicking and Screaming. What a performance!

However, hot on their heels, ready to pounce, are the Out of Shape Ballers, currently sitting on 16 points. Despite their moniker, these guys have proven to be far from out of shape when it comes to finding the back of the net, exemplified by a stunning 7-1 romp against Soccer FC earlier in the season. They started the campaign like a rocket, establishing themselves as early contenders with high-scoring wins. Oh, the drama, the sheer drama!

Mid-Table Musings and Mighty Upsets

Further down the pecking order, we've got Clay Bobeebeebos, who have molded their season into a solid, if not spectacular, middle-of-the-pack performance. At the bottom of the table, Soccer FC has endured a challenging season, but let no one say they don't fight! Despite the tough run, they managed to snatch a hard-fought, crucial point in a goalless 0-0 draw against none other than the powerhouse Out of Shape Ballers on August 14th – an outcome that had fans scratching their heads in disbelief! It was a moment of true resilience, a testament to playing the beautiful game, even if the ball wasn't always finding the back of the net for the boys from Soccer FC.

This season has been a proper rollercoaster, full of surprising results that have kept everyone on the edge of their seats. The Out of Shape Ballers suffered another jolt, not just losing to Kicking and Screaming, but also being emphatically avenged by the Beer Bellies in a tight 3-0 showdown on August 28th, flipping the script from their earlier 1-3 defeat!
