The Summer 2025 Monday 7v7 CoEd Soccer division at McCarren Park has been an absolute spectacle, delivering the kind of footy drama that keeps us all on the edge of our proverbial seats! As we approach the pointy end of the season, the title race is heating up like a summertime penalty shootout! Let's dive into the glorious chaos...
What a storyline developing right at the summit of our du foot league! For weeks, it seemed a foregone conclusion that 2 Girls 1 Goal were simply unstoppable. With a dominant run of ten consecutive victories, they were not just chasing a goal, but truly hitting them with sublime consistency, racking up an impressive 30 points and a staggering +33 goal difference. They looked destined to cruise to the title, but then came the earthquake! In perhaps the biggest upset of the season, Footjobs, who have been giving teams a serious workout all season, stunningly delivered 2 Girls 1 Goal their first loss on August 25th with a thrilling 2-1 victory. That's the type of result that sends shockwaves through the calcio landscape!
Breathing down their necks, and perhaps fancying their chances now more than ever, are the formidable Capybaras FC. These tranquilo titans have calmly amassed an impressive 28 points, with only one loss and one draw to their name. With a serene and calculating approach to their game, these Capybaras are proving to be anything but mellow on the pitch, continuing their winning run with a 1-0 victory over Rialto Grande United on the final Monday of August. The race is officially ON!
Speaking of Footjobs, their colossal victory instantly catapulted them into a strong third place, now sitting on 23 points. They proved on that day they were ready to leave a lasting Footjob print on the division's narrative! Rialto Grande United, despite their hiccup against the league leaders, are consistently delivering *grande* performances, holding firm in fourth place with 21 points and a +10 goal difference. They're a formidable side, battling heroically week in and week out.
The pack behind them is tightly contested, showing the true depth of our fußball league. Organ Donors FC finds themselves level on points with Daniel's Team, both on 16 points. Organ Donors FC are certainly *giving* it their all, with some solid wins under their belt, while Daniel's Team consistently displays grit and determination when the ball is at their feet. It’s tight in el futbol, and these teams clearly aren't going to roll over easily!
Further down the table, teams are still battling for every point, showing flashes of brilliance. Soccer My Balls, though facing some tough recent fixtures, know how to hit the back of the net when it counts and always aim for the goal. Farcelona, who are hoping they aren't *far* from greatness, and Forma Footy Factory, constantly building and improving their *forma*, are both on 10 points. TACOS, who can be deliciously good on their day or sometimes get swallowed whole by the competition, are hot on their heels with 9 points. These teams are proof that every match is a battle for pride and position, regardless of the table.
At the lower end of the table, Creative Flow FC and Mongo Bongo FC are still seeking that perfect rhythm. Creative Flow FC are looking to truly establish their attacking *flow* and sculpt some more wins, while for Mongo Bongo FC, the sounds of celebratory *bongo* beats on the field have been too few and far between this season; they’re working hard to find that winning beat!
With only a couple of matches remaining, including the highly anticipated rematch between Footjobs and Capybaras FC on August 27th, anything can happen in this thrilling division! Stay tuned, because this season is far from over!
